The Baby Arrives and is Delivered by Daddy

This is an email my hubby sent out after he delivered our 3rd child. Yes that is correct, he delivered this baby himself. Read on to see what happened.

"For those of you who have heard the story of how our second Daughter Aaliyah came into the world, in an ambulance being called because we didn't make it to the hospital... this story is wilder than that one.

Alyson had given birth to the third member of the Sistas Supreme Ayana Sarai Richardson on Saturday, October 8, 2005 at 3:21am.

We never made it to the hospital. In fact, we never even made it out our bedroom.

As Alyson proceed to have what can be a Guiness Book of World's Records of have the fastest labor (from 2:50 am to 3:21 am after her doctor earlier on 10/7 was saying that she was only starting to thin) Our newest child was born right into my hands while Amira Senayet and Aaliyah Saada watched beside me, awaken in a vain attempt to get to the hospital only 10 minutes from our home.

In hindsight, I wish I could have captured the look on their faces as they saw their sister being born. But I guess they would tell me that my face was no less priceless.

[Amira: That's a baby! (pointing)]

The 9-1-1 dispatch, who was on the phone with me five minutes before Ayana was born, seemed more nervous than I was as he was trying to get an understanding through vocal expressions of Alyson's labor pains.

Ayana and every one else is fine resting at the hospital. Her west coast grandparents came to welcome the newest family member to earth."
